Meet the Heart Behind Angel Scents — Hope Finch

I’m Hope — a mother, a maker, a survivor, and the hands behind Angel Scents Candle Co.

Born and raised in South America and Southeast Asia, I now live in Pflugerville, Texas, surrounded by the ones I love most: my life partner Isaiah, my sons Jordan and Julian, and my younger brother Walter.

My love for fragrance started young — candles, perfumes, anything that made the air feel soft, warm, and alive. My mother shared that same love, but could never enjoy most products because of the chemicals and additives. That stuck with me. I began to wonder: What if we could have beautiful scents without the harm?

But the journey that led to Angel Scents goes deeper than candles. In late 2019, I quit drinking — one of the hardest and bravest decisions I’ve ever made. Soon after, I was diagnosed with cirrhosis and told I had just six months to live. I was stunned. Broken. But I refused to accept that as the end of my story.

I chose life.
I chose healing.
And by God’s grace, I received both.

Out of that second chance, this company was born — not just as a creative outlet, but as a sacred space. A place where light rises from the darkness, where beauty and healing coexist, and where I could build something lasting for my family and in memory of those we’ve lost.

I named the company Angel Scents in honor of my beautiful younger sister, Cynthia, who passed away in 2001 at just 19 years old. She’s been our guardian angel ever since. Every candle I pour carries a part of her, a part of me, and a prayer for those still walking through the fire.

Then in 2022, life tested my faith once again. My youngest son, Julian — my Angel Face — suffered a sudden medical crisis and fell into a 27-day coma, beginning a 51-day battle in the hospital. We watched helplessly as he fought for his life, facing complications, misdiagnosis, and uncertainty no parent should endure.

But God showed up again.
Julian woke up. He fought through.
And he came out stronger than we ever imagined.
Our miracle. Our warrior.

During those long days in the ICU, I gifted candles to nurses and staff — small flames of gratitude, hope, and love in the darkest place we’d ever known. That experience changed us forever. And all for the good.

Today, we are living a life filled with laughter, healing, and grace. I give all the glory to God — for the second chances, the miracles, and the light we now get to share with others.

At Angel Scents, our candles are made with:
• Organic, vegan coconut apricot wax
• Clean, non-toxic fragrance and essential oils
• All-natural wooden wicks — both crackling and silent
• And above all… Love. Intention. Faith.

Each month, a portion of our proceeds goes to local charities, because we believe in giving back what we’ve been given.
